Ikusmira Berriak will take place in the city of San Sebastian, in Tabakalera facilities, the International Centre for Contemporary Culture. The residency will run for eight weeks split into two periods: six weeks between March - April 2024 and two weeks in September 2024.

Once residency has been awarded, the chosen applicants must confirm their acceptance within one week.

The filmmakers will not be able to change the project once they have been selected, they must abide by the dossier they presented in the call.

Applicants must confirm that they accept the following commitments:

  • The chosen applicants agree to reside at their accommodation for the full duration of the residency.  Any absence must be notified in advance.
  • Participants agree to take part in all the audiovisual programme activities.
  • Participants must commit to send all the documentation requested by the organization.
  • To submit their report on the residency to the Ikusmira Berriak documentation archives, and to take part in the audiovisual record of the programme.

The programme will cover the travel expenses, meals and accommodation.

Each project will have a development grant of 5,000 euros that will be handed over in June, so that they can continue working on their project between the two stays of the residency.

During the last phase of the residency (September) — coinciding with the week of the Festival — the programme will invite the producer of the selected project. The invitation will include 4 nights' accommodation and Festival accreditation. The producer agrees to follow the professional schedule which will be sent to them in advance.

Residents may use the resources in Tabakalera and EQZE (work spaces, cinema screens, access to documentation archives, equipment, etc.).

The programme includes one San Sebastian Film Festival accreditation (unique and non transferable). The accreditation includes free access to all cinema screens and sessions, to accredited installations open to the public, and to activities on the professional schedule, provided that the protocol agreed by the organisation is upheld.  The resident will be issued with one invitation to each of the official events and parties.

All the projects will receive a certificate of participation from the Ikusmira Berriak Management.

The IKUSMIRA BERRIAK name and that of the institutions involved must be included in the credits of the finished projects, in addition to their logos.
