The San Sebastian Festival, Tabakalera and the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola promote Kabia, an event dedicated to emerging movie talent.
The San Sebastian Festival, Tabakalera International Centre for Contemporary Culture and the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola are promoting a new initiative focused on the men and women directors of today and tomorrow. Kabia (nest in Basque) is an event dedicated to emerging movie talent to run at two times during the day. Both the Kabia Breakfast (from 10:00 to 12:30) and Networking Kabia (from 19:00 to 23:00) will bring teams from films in the Nest section (a selection of short films by students from film schools around the world) together with residents of the Ikusmira Berriak residency and project development programme and the Tabakalera building community: women filmmakers selected for Noka and students from the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola.
The purpose of Kabia is to bring together the communities involved in these programmes and sections in order that they may exchange ideas, share projects and have direct access to industry professionals selected ad hoc to work on programmes that could be of interest both to the filmmakers and for their educational aspect, which can provide them with valuable feedback on their professional career and their films.
The event will also welcome talents from other programmes with which the Festival, Tabakalera and EQZE collaborate throughout the year, such as a selection from La Incubadora, the Catalan Film Academy and Mannheim’s annual Cutting Edge Talent Camp.
Entry with an invitation.
