Ten Years of Ikusmira Berriak: 'Suro' (Mikel Gurrea, 2022)

The Ten Years of Ikusmira Berriak cycle, jointly organised by the Festival, Tabakalera and Elias Querejeta Zine Eskola, proposes an exploration and celebration, in retrospect, of the ten years of the Ikusmira Berriak film residency. This session will feature a screening of the feature film Suro (2022), directed by Mikel Gurrea**.

Synopsis: Helena and Ivan decide to make a new life for themselves amongst cork trees, but their different points of view on how to live on the land surface, challenging their future as a couple.

**This session is part of the “Tabakalera Generation” cycle, which celebrates Tabakalera's 10th anniversary. The session will also include a screening of the short film Frialdad by Andrea Sánchez, a participant in the NOKA programme. Both filmmakers will present their respective works at the session.
