Ekain Albite

Akira was born out of the need to film the liminal state of exile. The film is constructed around exhaustion, drifting and the bond between bodies moving forward without a clear destination. The journey, the night and the post-industrial landscapes are active forces that transform the characters and the very form of the film. Filming Akira means accepting uncertainty, letting reality permeate fiction and assuming that the film can only exist in that intermediate space where watching is also a way of inhabiting.
