La Canícula stems from my roots in the place where I grew up: spaces of care, warmth and inherited trauma, sustained by women. It is a film about the strength that persists in invisible work, domestic rituals and silent pacts. Through Ciro, I am interested in looking at how desire and intimacy have been postponed by family and social mandates. The film proposes a political reading of care and a defence of remaining, loving and resisting in a world that is burning.
